Dr Zoe Starnawski is a UK trained Counselling Psychologist who is registered with the British Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Chartered Psychologist with British Psychological Society (BPS)
Background & Experience
Prior to moving to Singapore, Zoe worked in the UK for over 10 years in psychological services within the National Health Service (NHS), including a specialist Women’s Health Service at the Royal Free Hospital London and Improving Access to Psychological Therapy Services (IAPT). Zoe has also worked in both educational and voluntary settings. More recently, she worked in private practice in central London including a private mental health hospital.
Zoe has worked primarily with adults (young to older individuals) experiencing mild to more complex mental health problems and general life difficulties, including anxiety, panic, low self-esteem, anger, relationship difficulties, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), substance misuse/addiction, grief and trauma.
Zoe views therapy as a process that is collaborative and unique to each client. As a Counselling Psychologist, she draws upon range tools and models to best suit the individual needs of the client. Zoe is trained in a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focussed Therapy, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) and more recently Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Originally from Australia, prior to moving to Singapore, Zoe lived in the UK for 20 years. Her experience has given her insight into the many challenges of working, studying and raising a family away from ‘home’ and adjusting to expat life.
