Background and Experience

Susanna is a Counsellor with Thrive having previously worked with Counselling practices in Singapore. She also worked in schools as a SEN teaching assistant in the UK.

Before training as a Counsellor, Susanna enjoyed a successful career in Advertising and PR as a regional event and talent development manager for globally renowned firms. After taking a short career break following the birth of her second child, Susanna decided to re-focus her energy away from the corporate world. During this period, she earned a Diploma in Learning Disorders Management and Child Psychology, as well as qualifications to teach English and Yoga for children.

When her husband’s career took her to the UK in 2016, Susanna developed a keen interest in mindfulness. She attended masterclasses at the University of Oxford Mindfulness Centre, as well as workshops and mindfulness teacher training.

On returning to Singapore in 2019, Susanna completed training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level I.

Susanna aims to offer bespoke and empathetic support to her clients, drawing creatively on her knowledge and experience of CBT, ACT, Gottman Method Couples Therapy and mindfulness. She strives to build relationships with her clients which are grounded on trust and mutual respect and has experience working with couples, adults, adolescents and children.
