Background & Experience
Wei Kiat has more than a decade of experience working with infants, children, adolescents, adults and their families across a variety of settings from early intervention, pre-schools, military, hospital and community.
He earned a Postgraduate Certification in Sensory Integration from the renowned University of Southern California, with specialisation in:
- Early Intervention
- Autism
- Feeding
Being certified in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), Wei Kiat also has obtained advanced training in Baby Treatment and was previously working with the Perinatal Mental Health Service in Institute of Mental Health (IMH), Singapore supporting mothers/parents with acute mental health issues and screening their babies for risk of developmental delays.
Prior to joining Thrive Family, Wei Kiat was the Therapy Team Lead overseeing a team of pediatric therapists (Clinical/Educational Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists) that provide support to pre-schoolers with learning and developmental needs, in 1 of the largest preschool operators in Singapore.

Wei Kiat is skilled in assessment and intervention to support children and their families with a variety of conditions:

Wei Kiat specialises in working with infants, and young children (0 to 6). In 2021, he was also registered as a Circle of Security – Parenting Facilitator and continues to upgrade himself to support parents of children with additional needs.
Supervision and Training
Wei Kiat had provided consultancy work at the national level and also conducted training, workshops and coaching to a wide variety of target audience from medical professionals (doctors/nurses), therapists, educators and parents.
He is currently an Associate Faculty and Clinical Educator at the Singapore Institute of Technology on the Bachelors of Science (Honours) program in Occupational Therapy. In recognition of his efforts and excellence in teaching, he had won a number of awards, notably the Inspiring Clinical Supervisor Award conferred by the Singapore Association of Occupational Therapists. He continues to mentor Occupational Therapists and other allied health professionals in Early Intervention and Paediatrics.
Personal
Having lived in the UK, Wei Kiat enjoys interacting with people from diverse cultures and nationalities.
Also, Wei Kiat has 2 young children who keep him busy outside of work. He enjoys doing simple things with them like going outdoors and cooking together. Being a father, he understands how parenting can be both hard and heart work.
