Background & Experience

Vicky uses an integrative approach to counselling with Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy(CBT) and play based approaches being her main therapeutic tools. She facilitates action through exploring clients’ emotions, cognitions and behaviours.

Vicky truly believes that people want to be the best version of themselves and that counselling can very much facilitate this. She is an approachable, supportive and respectful counsellor who helps clients investigate what is troubling them and then works collaboratively to make sense of these difficulties and to take control over improving them.

Working with children & adolescents

Vicky started her career as a teacher and has worked and lived in England, Turkey and Singapore, which she has called home for sixteen years.

Her background in education has given her a good understanding of the demands school puts on young people, along with developmental parameters both socially and emotionally. Her experience has allowed her to work with children of all ages in supporting their mental health, while working together in collaboration with families and schools. Vicky has experience of working with children with issues in the areas of self-esteem, behavioural challenges, anxiety and relationship issues.

Working with adults

Vicky also enjoys working with young people and adults in the areas of anxiety and self-esteem, social connections/interactions, unhelpful behaviours, parenting challenges and navigating the complexities of expatriate life.

Vicky believes that everyone has the capacity for improving their mental health and well being and a positive step towards this change is asking for help. She provides a non-judgemental listening ear and a supportive approach in order to tackle challenges using personal resources to help overcome these obstacles.

Personal

A mother to two amazing and energetic boys, Vicky spends her free time tickling small children, playing games and sport and going on adventures with her wonderful family!
