Background & Experience
Jenny is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. She began training as a counselor after working as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, and enjoys partnering with clients as they build upon their strengths to reach their goals.
Multiple international moves with her young family has afforded Jenny a unique perspective on cross-cultural transitions and difficulties faced by expats and their families. She has training in narrative-focused trauma care, in which stories of harm are processed with the hope of healing, and her experience as a speech-language pathologist provides insight into issues faced by families of children with special needs.
Jenny creates a safe and affirming context for individuals to journey toward personal healing. Life presents complex challenges, and sometimes we need focused care and support to cope with obstacles, gain clarity, grieve losses, find peace, and determine the next step forward. With a client-centred approach, she draws from attachment theory, internal family systems, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy.
Jenny has been married for 19 years and has three children. Relocating around the United States, South America, and Asia with young children has kept life rich with new experiences and opportunities. She loves time with her family, exploring new places, reading, and listening to podcasts. She is passionate about issues of mental health, and loves learning and reading about the healing process.
