Anita provides counselling for both adults and adolescents and is committed to providing emotional support in an empathetic and genuine manner in order to help clients to address challenges and make positive changes in their lives. Utilizing a person-centered approach to therapy, Anita draws from various therapeutic strategies and techniques. Working holistically, she tailors her therapy to the individual using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness techniques. Drawing from her experience in school counselling as well as her work with adults Anita can work with a broad range of personal, professional, and relationship issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, stress, low self esteem/confidence, anger management, emotion regulation, grief/loss, social issues as well as parenting challenges.
Background & Experience
Born in the UK, Anita was brought up as a third culture kid living in Indonesia, Thailand, the USA, Sri Lanka and New Zealand. She has lived in Singapore for the last 12 years and also spent many of her school years here in Singapore at UWCSEA. This experience, coupled with raising her three TCK teenage daughters in Singapore, gives her an in-depth understanding of life as an expatriate child and parent with all its unique challenges and rewards
Anita holds a Masters in Counselling from Monash University, Australia and is registered with the Singapore Association of Counsellors.
