Background and Experience
As part of her training, Ai Jia worked with children, adolescents, and adults with a broad range of presenting concerns such as mood and anxiety disorders, self-harm behaviour, psychosomatic disorders, trauma, attentional and hyperactivity concerns, tics, trichotillomania, and low self-esteem. Prior to her enrolment in the Master programme, Ai Jia worked in the disability field with individuals of different ages.
Approach
Ai Jia is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She is most interested in the process of therapy where her clients are empowered to make sense of their situations and find their unique solutions. She is committed to provide a safe space for clients in therapy to work through their difficulties collaboratively through warmth and curiosity.
Personal
Ai Jia loves photography, doodling, and reading books. She enjoys the process of understanding research methods and statistical analysis. Before the pandemic strikes, Ai Jia loves to embark in solo adventures overseas. Ai Jia speaks fluent English, Chinese, and basic Teochew.
