What to expect on first appointment?
A typical session is about 50 mins to 1 hour. On arrival at the clinic, you will be asked to complete a short contact information form, and a form outlining our confidentiality and fee policy.
We recognize that coming to a first appointment can be anxiety provoking. Our aim is to make you feel comfortable enough to talk about what you like help with for yourself or your child, and how you would like things to progress. In this first session, we may ask you lots of details about the problems you or your child are facing and the impact that this is having. We may ask you to fill in some standardised questionnaires.
It is important to remember that this is an opportunity for you to decide whether the therapist feels like somebody you could do work with. We recognize that finding a person you feel comfortable with is really important our clinicians are open to discussing this.
What if I need to cancel?
Please provide a minimum of 48 hours notice if you need to cancel an appointment. You may be charged for missing appointments without adequate notice. We are aware there are sometimes emergencies or illness occur so are also fair about this.
