Background and Experience

Esis is an Honours years graduate from the National University of Singapore, majoring in Psychology and Life Sciences.

Before joining Thrive Family as an Assistant Psychologist, she has been actively involved in volunteering for children, youth and the elderly. During her undergraduate years, she has served as the head of the content committee for a mental health initiative called SPECTRUM that aims to tackle stigma against mental health struggles amongst NUS students. As part of her role, her team organized a series of workshops equipping students with skills derived from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness and the Awareness, Courage and Love (ACL) model.

With a passion for mental health, community work and social innovation, she is looking to contribute to Singapore’s mental health landscape by working on the ground and starting up some community projects in the future. An avid lover of humour, she finds joy in injecting laughter into the lives of people around her and connecting with them by creating memes inspired by her own life, and watches sitcoms and anime during her free time. Having been a chorister, you can occasionally catch her humming some tunes, or belting out to classics (maybe even classical music), sometimes without any awareness that people may be watching her!
